This is the story of the development and piloting of a Model for Flexible Industrial Training (MoFIT) aimed at up-skilling and cross-skilling technicians who maintain complex manufacturing plant. MoFIT is a technology-supported training model, developed by FAS (the Irish National Training and Employment Authority), with expert input and pilot feedback from partners in Austria, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK. The project was partially funded by the European Commission through the Leonardo da Vinci programme and led by FAS. This case study describes the developments and piloting that took place in Ireland.
