Coaches at HP


It should also be noted that HP appointed three in-house coaches, drawn from the Workforce Development Department. They played a critical role in providing on-site support to learners, monitoring website activities as well as acting as a key link between the trainers and the company. They also played a key role in engaging learners, supervisors and co-workers and developing a learning culture within the company. By the last quarter of the project, the project team established a routine for weekly communication (usually with the HP lead coach visiting the training centre) to monitor and share any issues that needed to be addressed. Part of the project reflections included identifying the role of these coaches, their value contribution to the process and the impact it had on their professional development and job satisfaction.
