Lessons learned for training providers working with company groups
The project provided an insight into the potential for a different kind of relationship between training provider and companies. In Ireland, the project demonstrated a model for FAS of a new kind of in-company training approach. The FAS trainers and HP coaches developed a close working relationship, met frequently and formally to discuss issues relating to the modules and established a set of rules whereby each had a specified role/responsibility. The benefits for both organisations and for the learners have been significant. While the success of the relationship has been built on the development of personal relationships, it has nonetheless offered FAS a model for future working, and has established within HP an awareness that, by being much more involved in defining and supporting the work of their training providers, the outcomes will be more effective.
