The IDeA continues to build the e-learning resources base, and to engage with local authorities to assist them in using e-learning to meet their performance targets and changing mandate. As Paul English, IDeA's principal consultant notes, 'A key thing on the horizon for us is to think through a strategic framework for e-learning implementation in local government. e-Learning has generally been deployed in a non-strategic way so far. We want to see its integration with other strategic initiatives, proper objective setting, managing change and contributing to achieving performance targets.'
