The e-learning story so far
LloydsTSB has been using technology-supported learning within its training systems for a number of years. In common with many other large organisations, the organisation has experienced a number of successful and not so successful ventures into this area and has, of course, has experienced many changes in its competitive operating environment as well as its own growth and performance, which have impacted on its human capital development needs and approaches over the same period. Decisions to deploy technology in learning systems within a large corporate environment such as this are therefore inevitably influenced by a wide range of external and internal competitive and organisational factors. This case study examines LloydsTSB's learning systems for a particular group of staff (contact centre Customer Advisors) as well as its e-learning usage more broadly in order to understand more fully the factors in their specific context that are likely to influence their optimal deployment of technology to support learning and development in the organisation.
