Experience of e-learning

Prior to the pilot, only two people had used e-learning outside LloydsTSB and only one of these for a formal learning programme. However, over half have used e-learning in LloydsTSB - most identifying bank MMPC courses they had completed.

Participants were asked to express their positive views about e-learning. Four linked e-learning positively with skills development and/or job performance. Seven referred to it being an easier, more interactive, more interesting way to learn than reading. Five mentioned being able to go at their own pace as a positive aspect of e-learning and four mentioned accessibility as a positive feature. These views were expressed before they began the pilot module.

When asked about their concerns, six expressed concerns about their own ability to learn and to do so without help, and anxiety about covering everything they needed to learn for work (self-management). One was concerned about boredom and another was concerned that lack of computing skills would disadvantage recognition rather than knowledge. Three expressed concerns about security/privacy.
