Lessons learned? (p2)

Experience of e-learning
As noted above. Only two of the twenty-five participants had any experience of e-learning in formal (qualifications linked) learning. However, over half had experience in LloydsTSB of their current e-learning programmes - the MMPC programmes were specifically mentioned. Participants were asked to describe the positive aspects of e-learning - which one could reasonably but not exclusively attribute to their experience of e-learning to date (other influences would be what they have seen family members using, comments from other colleagues and friends and what they have read). Given the age range of the participants, it is not surprising that different participants associated different kinds of attributes to learning. A range of factors is likely to influence how they have built these positive expectations and the sample is too small to associate one specific attribute to any one age or gender group.

About 50% participants expressed general concerns about e-learning - half of these related to their concerns about being able to seek help and support and ask questions for clarification. This appears to confirm their expectations about e-learning is that it is self-learning, that it does not include communication with others and they will be required to be self reliant in confirming their understanding and ability to apply the learning at work.
