e-Learning formally established through appointments


In June 2003, recruitment began for the appointment of a Head of e-Learning, and E-Resources Manager and an E-Resources Officer.

At the highest level, the aim of these appointments is to:
  • develop the e-College within Lewisham College as a centre of excellence with responsibility for embedding e-learning/blended learning into the curriculum
  • maintain awareness of developments and current thinking in all aspects of e-learning including mLearning
  • inspire and motivate staff to engage in e-learning/blended learning.
The appointees were in place by the early autumn and work began on developing a strategy and operational plans for learning technology integration, aligned with the college's strategic plan.
